WE WALK TOGETHER FOR FRIENDSHIP AND INCLUSION OF PERSONS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES.
In the whole world the FRIENDSHIP WALK, has been established as the biggest friendship walk of love and acceptance of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It is a one day festival, where hundreds of citizens, volunteers and persons with disabilities participate together with their Buddies. It is a festive event where dance, rhythm and music are at the upfront!
The association FILARAKIA ELLADAS – Best Buddies Greece since 2011 empower adults with disabilities, with the vehicle of Friendship and with the basic target the inclusion of the persons in every aspect of their daily lives.
In order to reach our vision we make small steps developing during the last years the FRIENDSHIP WALK. The objective is to build the awareness of society on topics of inclusion of persons with disabilities and acceptance of the different. We fight the social stigma, empower the inclusion and we accept the different!
We will be waiting for all of you on Saturday October 12 at Syntagma Square at 11a.m. where up to the commencement of the friendship walk various entertainment, musical dancing events with the participation of all, and the information of citizens will take place. In continuation, we walk through Ermou street with the escort of the great African band (quilombo) and the closing of the event takes place at Monastiraki Square!
The “FRIENDSHIP WALK” is organized for the 9th year by Filarakia Elladas – Best Buddies Greece and under the auspices of the Municipality of Athens with the caption “With every step together, we change lives”
