On Sunday, October 1st, our members had the opportunity to participate in a special event at the Peace and Friendship Stadium. Olympiakos Beach Volley Academy organized a two-day beach volleyball tournament, a little different from the rest, as the second day was dedicated to Inclusion and Friendship, giving young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to actively participate in sports, learning about a new sport.
With great joy and enthusiasm, the tournament players and academy members welcomed us to the event, and together with the beneficiaries and volunteers we all became one big team. The participants played and had fun, all together promoting Friendship and Inclusion! The aim of this event was to highlight that in sports there is no discrimination.
After the end of the game, commemorative gifts from the Olympiakos team were distributed to all the participants, and a thank you trophy was awarded by Best Buddies Greece to the Olympiakos Beach Volleyball Academy Director Mr. Tsirogiannis and the Manager of the Academy Mrs. Kitsou.
We were joined by staff members of the Colgate company who sponsored the event. We look forward to meeting all of us again in future actions, always with the aim of social inclusion and acceptance.
